Reverse PDLC Smart Film (PNLC) is a special variant of PDLC technology in which the optical behaviour is inverted compared to standard PDLC film. In its default state (OFF), the film remains transparent. When an electrical current is applied (ON), the liquid crystal molecules change orientation, causing the film to become opaque. This makes reverse PDLC particularly suitable for applications where transparency is required as the default condition, with privacy activated only when needed.
Typical applications include:
Reverse PDLC Smart Film provides an alternative approach to privacy control and spatial flexibility, allowing designers and end users to choose the default visual state that best suits the functional and aesthetic requirements of the space.
